SCTS 2025 | Assessing and Improving Quality of Life After Thoracic Surgery

In March 2025, the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain and Ireland held its annual meeting, bringing together professionals in the field of cardiothoracic surgery to discuss the latest advancements in technologies and techniques. At the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain and Ireland Annual Meeting, Dr. Nuria M. Novoa, chief of the Department of Thoracic Surgery at University Hospital Puerta de Hierro-Majadahonda, Madrid, and 2024-2025 ESTS President, delivered a presentation on “Assessing and Improving Quality of Life After Thoracic Surgery.” She addressed topics such as postoperative outcomes, patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), and measuring quality of life. Dr. Novoa also explored patient-reported experience measures (PREMs), health related questionnaires, and improving outcomes.
