Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the International CTEPH Association, it is our pleasure to invite you to San Diego (California, United States) for our International CTEPH Conference taking place on September 29-30, 2023.

The triennial ICC medical congresses are solely dedicated to chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH).

You can join ICC 2023 in person in San Diego or by attending the event stream virtually with any mobile device. Plenary sessions will also be available on demand for registered user should you not be able to attend live due to time or time zone constraints.

Patients diagnosed with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) today benefit from advanced treatment strategies, which positively impact morbidity, mortality and quality of life. Pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA), medical therapy and balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) are currently accepted therapy modalities for CTEPH. Over the last years, the number of centers able to offer BPA procedures to improve patient care has increased worldwide.

However, health-care professionals taking care of CTEPH patients are still faced with challenges in their day-to-day practice. Efforts towards early and accurate diagnosis should continue to ensure a quick and effective treatment initiation. In the wake of the Corona pandemic, some patients may present with severe pneumonia due to Covid-19 complicated by acute pulmonary embolism and showing clinical criteria for CTEPH. The timing and combination of treatment options available for CTEPH are not yet fully explored and require an experienced and multidisciplinary view on patient management.

ICC 2023 will continue to lead the discussion around CTEPH management and make another significant step towards advancing the diagnosis and treatment of CTEPH and improving education regarding the disease. We would be delighted if you will join us – in person in San Diego or virtually.
