Research
Dr. Jeremy Wood received both his Bachelor of Science (Biology) in 1976 and his Medical Degree in 1980; subsequently, completing his cardiac surgery residency training at Dalhousie University. He then pursued a Fellowship at Pacific Presbyterian Medical Centre in San Francisco, California in 1987. Dr. Wood is certified as a Fellow in General Surgery, Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery Specialties through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He obtained certification with the American Board of Surgery in both General and Thoracic Surgery and maintains his Fellowship with the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Wood has collaboratively advanced clinical initiatives at our centre, through the Maritime Connective Tissue Clinic and TAVI programs, and complex aortic repair both open and endovascular techniques. Dr. Wood actively participates in both academic and clinical teaching at all levels of training for which he was recognized in 2009 with the Excellence in Teaching Award by PARI-MP.
