Attend the STSA 64th Annual Meeting in San Antonio, TX, November 8-11

The deadline to preregister for the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association (STSA) 64th Annual Meeting is October 18, 2017. Make plans to join STSA at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa in San Antonio, Texas, November 8-11, 2017. The 64th Annual Meeting is packed with dynamic educational sessions and opportunities to enjoy the camaraderie of your colleagues. You can view the full educational and social activity lineup in the Advance Program. Highlights include:

  • Scientific Sessions on Thursday and Friday, Nov 9 and 10, will include abstracts and videos selected by the program committee after an intensive peer-review process. Many presentations will include a discussion period. In all, more than 70 abstracts and videos will be presented.
  • Concurrent subspecialty breakout sessions will be held on Friday, Nov. 10. This year’s breakout topics include Adult Cardiac, General Thoracic, Congenital, Transplant, and ECMO.
  • The General Session on Thursday, November 9 will feature the President’s Invited Lectureship by Pedro del Nido, and David Jones’ Presidential Address.
  • The General Session on Friday, November 10 will feature the Kent Trinkle Education Lectureship by Marc Moon and the Harold Urschel History Lectureship by Stephen Yang.
  • The Friday program features a new update on Practice Management Expert Panel, Incorporating New Technology and New Operations into Clinical Practice: How I Do it. Featured panelists include Robert Cerfolio, Joe Dearani, Mike Mack, M. Blair Marshall, and Todd Rosengart.
  • The Postgraduate Program will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 8:00 am-11:40 am and will address a variety of noteworthy topics including “Maximizing Leadership Potential in Your Practice,” “Advances in Surgery: New Techniques and Technologies,” and “Management of the Difficult Cardiothoracic Patient in the Early Postoperative Period,” specifically for interdisciplinary care providers.
  • Social activities are planned throughout the meeting, including:
    • All Attendee Luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 9
    • Residents Reception and President’s Mixer on Thursday, Nov. 9
    • Annual Awards Dinner on Friday, Nov. 10
    • Golf Outing on Saturday, Nov. 11

The Southern Thoracic Surgical Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. STSA designates this educational activity for a maximum of 17 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
