CTSNet Launches Fourth Annual Resident Video Competition

2017 Resident Video Competition winner Brian Mitzman (right), with CTSNet Associate Editor Joel Dunning.

CTSNet is excited to announce its fourth annual Resident Video Competition. The competition is open to all cardiothoracic surgery residents, general surgery residents, and medical students. Qualifying videos will be published in the CTSNet Residents Section, given an Altmetric tracking badge, and featured in an edition of Pulse, the CTSNet weekly eNewsletter. The winning video will also be displayed prominently on the CTSNet homepage and the winning author will be recognized at a future CTSNet event.

Surgical videos, interviews, roundtable discussions, and creative submissions relevant to residency and/or the cardiothoracic surgery specialty are all welcome. A resident must be the first author on a video for it to be considered, although a resident does not need to be the primary surgeon in operative video submissions.

All submissions for the Resident Video Competition must adhere to CTSNet’s standard Submission Guidelines. Applicants should use the CTSNet Content Submission Form to enter videos into the competition, checking the “Resident Video Competition” box on the form to ensure that the submission is considered for competition purposes.

The deadline for submissions is November 1, 2018
