Highlights from the STS 54th Annual Meeting

STS 54th Annual Meeting attendees appreciated exciting talks this morning by three distinguished lecturers, as well as the 2018 awards presentation. The Patient Safety Symposium tackles an important topic—how cognitive biases and “rules of thumb” impact medical decision making—and 15 other educational sessions are being offered in the afternoon.

Whether you are with us in Fort Lauderdale or couldn’t make this year’s Annual Meeting, you can peruse the Tuesday/Wednesday edition of the STS Meeting Bulletin, now available online. The Society’s official meeting newspaper covers highlights such as:

  • recap of STS President Richard L. Prager’s Presidential Address, given yesterday morning,
  • previews of today’s Thomas B. Ferguson and C. Walton Lillehei Lectures,
  • a feature on the Society’s 2018-2019 President Keith S. Naunheim, MD, who was elected last night by the STS membership,
  • the recipients of the Society’s Distinguished Service Award for 2018,
  • and much more!

Don’t forget: Those not attending the meeting can purchase access to STS Annual Meeting Online at 33% off postmeeting pricing through Wednesday, January 31, 2018.
