SCTS iData App Launches

The SCTS, in conjunction with the National Institute for Cardiovascular Outcomes Research (NICOR) and the University of Manchester, has launched a novel window onto the SCTS National Adult Cardiac Surgery Audit (NACSA) database to support shared decision making. Available online and as a free app, SCTS iData allows users to place filters on the database in order to find out how many patients with similar characteristics have undergone surgery in the UK between April 2008 – March 2012. Average in-hospital and one-year mortality, post-operative length of stay, EuroSCORE, and EuroSCORE II analysis is also given.
