STSA 61st Annual Meeting in Tucson, November 5-8, 2014

The STSA Annual Meeting is known for its collegial atmosphere and unique social spirit that is emblematic of the Southern Thoracic. STSA invites attendance at its 61st Annual Meeting in Tucson this fall for an educational experience unlike any other.

The STSA 61st Annual Meeting will take place November 5-8 at the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass in Tucson, AZ. The deadline for advance registration and to secure a hotel room at the group rate is October 14. Register for the meeting and reserve your room at the STSA website. Space at the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass is limited; you are encouraged to reserve early to ensure your stay at the host resort.

The 61st Annual Meeting will include dynamic educational sessions and many opportunities to enjoy the camaraderie of your colleagues. View the full lineup in the Advance Program. Highlights include:

  • Surgical video presentations will kick-off the meeting on November 5;
  • The Postgraduate Program on November 7 will feature specialty-specific case presentations and breakout sessions; an expert panel discussion titled “Educating Our Future”; and Special Session speaker, William A. Baumgartner, MD;
  • Robert M. Sade, MD will moderate the Ethics Debate on November 7;
  • The General Session on November 8 will feature the Kent Trinkle Education Lectureship by Mark S. Slaughter, MD; the President’s Invited Lectureship by David M. Shahian, MD; and Richard L. Prager, MD’s Presidential Address;
  • Scientific oral presentations will take place throughout the meeting and will include ample opportunity for discussion;
  • The Saturday morning, November 8 program will include a Coding Update by Peter K. Smith, MD and the Harold Urschel History Lecture by Daniel L. Miller, MD;
  • Social activities planned for Saturday, November 8, including the always-popular Annual Awards Dinner & Dance.

The Southern Thoracic Surgical Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
