The authors prospectively documented the use of Indocyanine Green (ICG) fluorescence in minimally invasive surgery (MIS) performed at their center. ICG was administered intravenously at standardized doses, and near-infrared thoracoscopy was used to visualize fluorescence. Beyond its conventional role in conduit perfusion assessment, ICG was applied to pulmonary metastasectomy for nodule localization, segmental lung resections for the delineation of intersegmental planes, thoracic duct visualization (without the use of ultrasonography (USG) for injecting dye) and ligation in chylothorax, and intraoperative visualization of bronchial and esophageal anatomy in complex surgeries.
