ArtiSential Wristed Instruments for a Left Upper Lobectomy with a Monopolar Dissector

Monday, November 13, 2023

Dunning J. ArtiSential Wristed Instruments for a Left Upper Lobectomy with a Monopolar Dissector. November 2023. doi:10.25373/ctsnet.24556192

This is a video of an operation with the ArtiSential wristed instruments in VATS surgery. The operation featured a monopolar precise dissector. The author had not used a monopolar Maryland style grasper before and found it to be to his liking. Often, bipolar instruments short out if they do not have enough tissue in the jaws, but that was not a problem with the monopolar instrument. It could also be used as a grasper, or the jaw could be closed to use it as a spatula.

The video also demonstrates cryoanalgesia and a three-port approach for using these instruments.
