At the American Society for Artificial Internal Organs (ASAIO) 2025 Annual Conference, Dr. Andrew M. Acker, a cardiothoracic surgery resident at Penn Medicine, delivered a presentation titled “Impella 5.5 Is Safe in Small Ventricles.”
Dr. Acker provided a thorough overview of the study’s background, as well as the history of the Impella 5.5. Additionally, he discussed the study’s methods, including the primary and secondary outcomes, and the results from the study. Furthermore, he highlighted the rates of complications and rates of death.
