Nardini M, Jayakumar S, Naruka V, et al.. Microlobectomy, A Novel Technique of VATS Lobectomy. January 2018. doi:10.25373/ctsnet.5774202.
Microlobectomy aims to reduce postoperative pain and enhance a patient's recovery. The key principles include: no intercostal utility incision; no intercostal incisions larger than 5 mm; adoption of 5 mm instrumentation, 5 mm sealing devices, and a 5 mm camera; and the addition of a subxiphoid port used for larger tools, specimen retrieval, and chest drainage.
