Minimally Invasive Approaches in Complex Cardiac Procedures: An Interview With Oleksandr Babliak

At the 2025 Endoscopic Cardiac Surgeons (ECS) Club Annual Meeting, CTSNet Senior Editor Dr. Lorena Montes spoke with Dr. Oleksandr Babliak, Chief of the Cardiac Surgery Division at the Dobrobut Medical Network in Kyiv, Ukraine, about utilizing minimally invasive approaches in complex cardiac procedures.  

They reviewed a recent case of Dr. Babliak’s involving a patient with a septal ventricular defect post infarction with aneurysm. They discussed the patient’s background, the recovery process, and the various techniques employed during the surgery. Dr. Babliak addressed challenges encountered throughout the procedure and highlighted the advantages of minimally invasive approaches. Additionally, he shared insights into the technology and resources that are available in Kyiv.
