5th Annual NYSTS Mock Oral Boards

The New York Society for Thoracic Surgery (NYSTS) will be hosting the Fifth Annual NYSTS Mock Oral Boards on Saturday January 6, 2018 at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan. This is a ½ day session with format and content which mirrors the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (ABTS) Oral Exam. Faculty is selected from the teaching institutions throughout the New York metropolitan area and represent all areas of sub-specialization. The experience provides trainees the opportunity to be examined by unfamiliar and unbiased examiners who will provide the examinee with oral and written feedback at the end of the mock oral sessions. Written feedback of the examinees will also be provided to their respective program directors upon request. 

Thoracic surgery residents at all levels of training and recent graduates preparing for the ABTS Oral Exam are invited to participate in the mock orals. 

Residents or Program Directors interested in participating are asked to respond by December 29th to: nysts@nysts.org with the names and year of training or graduation for participants. There is no charge to the trainee or their program for participation. Breakfast and lunch are provided.

The NYSTS Mock Oral Boards have been well received since its inception and participation increases each year. We look forward to seeing the residents from your program.
