ASAIO Journal/CTSNet Webinar Series – Cardiogenic Shock – Improving Outcomes

CTSNet and ASAIO Journal are collaborating once again to host the second webinar in this jointly-held live series. This second webinar will focus on improving outcomes of cardiogenic shock. Mark S. Slaughter, MD, editor-in-chief for the ASAIO Journal and professor and chair of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at the University of Louisville, and moderator Adam Protos, MD, division chief of Adult Cardiac Surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, will be joined by guest moderator Claudius Mahr, DO, ASAIO Journal cardiovascular section editor and professor of Clinical Medicine and Cardiac Surgery, and Medical Director of MCS at the University of Washington. Digital moderator Ashok Kumar Coimbatore Jeyakumar, MD, assistant professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, will manage the live Q&A and audience polls. Nationally recognized panelists Daniel Burkhoff, MD, PhD, of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, Navin Kapur, MD, of Tufts Medical Center, and Leora T. Yarboro, MD, of the University of Virginia Health System will discuss risk stratification, hemodynamic assessment, and management of cardiogenic shock, including:

• Defining the stages of cardiogenic shock, invasive hemodynamic assessment and risk stratification
• Cath lab devices for acute myocardial infarction and heart failure
• Surgical devices for cardiogenic shock, including ECMO
