Radiotracer-guided localization of pulmonary nodules was introduced in 2000, with subsequent studies confirming its reproducibility and reliability. As more frequent small, asymptomatic masses are being identified, this technique could prevent unnecessary thoracotomies and preserve lung parenchyma.

The anterior cervicothoracic approach was used to remove a desmoid tumor of the thoracic outlet in a 70-year-old male. The chest wall was reconstructed with titanium bars and a polytetrafluoroethylene-patch. The clavicle was fixed using a titanium clip. The postoperative period was uneventful.

Prior VATS lobectomy is a relative contraindication to ipsilateral repeat VATS lobectomy due to possible technical difficulties arising from adhesions and scarring, especially at the hilum.
